HCA Member Show 2025

works of art were submitted to enter the show this year from  towns and state. The artwork submitted this year was excellent, and narrowing it down was extremely difficult. However, the works selected will make a powerful portrayal of our community of artists.  Juror Sarah Alexander selected  for display in the gallery. She is a Core Artist Member at Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.  Her work is in private collections and has been shown extensively throughout New England, as well as abroad. Sarah's work has been published by North Light Books.

The HCA Members Show 2025 Exhibition will be available for viewing at the HCA's Lotvin Family Gallery January 6, 2025 - February 6,  2024 as well as online here.

The HCA gallery hours for public viewing: Monday - Fridays 9 am - 7 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 2 pm. If you wish to bring a group of 6 or more people to view the exhibit, please contact the HCA in advance to schedule a group visit.

Dimensions: 18 x 24 x 1
Medium: Photography
Year created: 2024
Artwork Description for Gallery Label: This is an archival digital inkjet print. I was drawn to the intensity and clarity of the lighthouse reflection in the puddle. The symmetry of the structure helped with the composition. The overcast gray sky made presenting this image in black & white an easy decision.

Artwork Description for Gallery Label: “Stalking” is a painting of a photo I took of white Bengal Tiger while visiting a local zoo. It was pacing back and forth as if it was stalking its prey. I am a wildlife abstract artist and I love playing with the idea of combining wildlife realism with a splash of abstraction. It provokes curiosity for the viewer.

Artwork Description for Gallery Label: I love the feel of working with fabric, after taking a quilting class 15 years ago in PA. I love abstract art and wanted to try this technique of cutting up 2-inch fabric scraps and sewing them together in a grid to create the illusion of a garden.

Dimensions: 23 x 15.25 x 1
Medium: Mixed Media Collage
Year created: 2024
Artwork Description for Gallery Label: Cityscapes, textures, and color strongly influence my collage work. I use papers which I create by hand or by monoprint press, photographs I transfer to rice papers or on transparency combined with clippings of graphics, typography and images from mid-century architectural magazines. The "structure" I create in my work gives me a feeling of calm through it's counterbalance of order and freedom....like listening to jazz.

$325.00

Dimensions: 10 x 20 x 0.75
Medium: Photography Metal Print
Year created: 2022
Artwork Description for Gallery Label: It filled the keyhole-shaped tree cavity as if it were made for him. He had not a care in the world, as he rested all day to prepare for his evening hunt for food. Unlike the Gray Morph Eastern Screech Owl that blends in with the bark of trees, this Red Morph Eastern Screech Owl was happy to stand out. There were just two of us in the cemetery observing the magical beauty that is inherent with owls. Being in the same space as them makes you feel like you’re in the presence of a majestic being. I marveled at how his body took on the keyhole shape, as he rested on the doorstep of his home. Whenever I’m in the company of trees, I look for holes that might provide a suitable dwelling for our feathered friends. Most are empty, but on this particular day, I was blessed with Little Red.
