Call for Art
HCA Members Show

January 6 - February 6, 2025

Reception: Thursday January 16th, 6-8 pm

Artist Members are invited to submit online applications containing 1 or 2 works of art no larger than 30"wide. All media are welcome, including framed painting, drawing, photography, printmaking - and wall-hung sculpture if it does not protrude more than 10", and the widest dimensions is 30". No AI (Artificial Intelligence) artwork will be accepted.

Two dimensional work must be wired for hanging. Your work will not be accepted if it is not properly framed and wired. Please contact Megann Filios at megann@hopartscenter.org if you have any questions. See instructions here

Original artwork created in the last 5 years
Not shown previously at HCA
Created by an HCA member of any age

Artwork description should tell us about your work, it will be on the label in the gallery, please refrain from giving a description of your technique. 

Please crop out the frame when submitting your image, only the artwork should be seen. 

Please ensure your image is properly oriented as we use the images in our web gallery. 

If you are using another artist's work as a reference, please give the name of the artist and their work.  For Example:  "This painting inspired by Pablo Picasso's Girl Before a Mirror."

Due to space considerations only one piece will be accepted into the show.

By submitting this art you acknowledge that HCA is not responsible for damage or loss of artwork before, during, or after the exhibit.  You also agree to pick up the works of art within the pick-up dates and acknowledge that HCA is not responsible for keeping artwork left at the gallery after  pick-up dates end.  HCA may take photos of your work that may be used for promotional purposes.

Submission Fee: $0 for members! Simply use code MEMBER when you get to the payment section by clicking on "Enter Promo code". DO NOT FILL THE CARD DETAILS. Then click on "Submit Payment Charge".

IMPORTANT DATES:

• EXHIBIT DATES: January 6- February 6, 2025
  
• SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday December 16, 2024 - 10pm. No exceptions for late submissions. Please do not wait until December 16 to submit your work online. The website often slows down if everyone is waiting to submit on the final day.
  
• ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTED ARTWORKS: Friday December 20, 2024 - 5pm
• DROP OFF DATES: Friday January 3, 3-6pm OR Saturday January 4, 10am-1pm at 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA 01748. Work will not be accepted before or after these dates. If you are planning to ship your artwork, please let Megann know at megann@hopartscenter.org.  Artwork must be received by Jan 3rd.
  
• OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday January 16, 6-7pm
  
• PICK UP DATES: Friday February 7, 2024, 3-6pm OR Saturday February 8, 2024, 10am-1pm - ALL WORK MUST BE PICKED UP ON TIME. HCA cannot be responsible for storing your artwork.

Example of an Artwork Description for Gallery Label: 

How to size your images before uploading them on artcall: 
Check that your image has a .jpg or .png extension at the end of its name
Size: An image size is determined by its width and its height in pixels (px)
Weight: the weight of an image also called "File Size"  is measured in kilobite (KB) or megabite (MB)
To upload your images on art call, the size of your image must be at least 960 x 1920 px, and the weight less than 4MB.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN 1 WORK IN A SINGLE SUBMISSION. This makes for a very difficult selection process for the jurors and the admins.  Thank you for understanding.
